Kingston is trialling 'play streets' and we are accepting applications for regular closures in up to ten different streets throughout the borough. There will be no charge for holding a play street within the borough providing these events are for neighbours and residents only. Further details and how to apply are here: https://www.kingston.gov.uk/info/200344/public_events/1572/play_streets
London Mayor Sadiq Kahn has announced plans for the capital’s biggest Car-Free Day yet and play streets are a big part of the vision – London Play hope to see at least 200 streets playing out on the day. They have space hoppers and other play equipment to give away to participating streets – and all will go into a draw to win a free on-street go kart building workshop on the day. As per last year, there is a bit of consulting and chatting to your neighbours to do in advance of applying, so now is a great time to start the ball rolling.
If you would like your play street to start on or around Car-Free Day on Sunday 22nd September, and be in with a chance of benefiting from the offers mentioned above, please speak with your neighbours, register your interest with us now and send us your completed application by 31 July.
